Loved each and every part of this book. I will definitely recommend this book to spirituality, non fiction lovers.

This, in turn, determines how you act in the world and interact with others. To be unable to feel the life that animates the physical body, the very life that you are, is the greatest deprivation that can happen to you. If evil has any reality — and it has a relative, not an absolute, reality — this is also its definition: complete identification with form — physical forms, thought forms, emotional forms.

This forgetfulness is original sin, suffering, delusion. The same as I. I try to find myself in things but never quite make it and end up losing myself in them. That is the fate of the ego. It cannot be otherwise. As far as intellectual or physical abilities are concerned — knowledge, skills, talents, and energy levels — human beings differ widely.

What really matters is not what function you fulfill in this world, but whether you identify with your function to such an extent that it takes you over and becomes a role that you play. When you play roles, you are unconscious. The balance between enjoyment and structural tension is lost, and the latter has won. When there is stress, it is usually a sign that the ego has returned, and you are cutting yourself off form the creative power of the universe.

Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Separate them from the situation, which is always neutral, which always is as it is. There is the situation or the fact, and here are my thoughts about it.

Instead of making up stories, stay with the facts. The paradox is that suffering is caused by identification with form and erodes identification with form. A lot of it is caused by the ego, although eventually suffering destroys the ego — but not until you suffer consciously. Something will then come forth from that dimension into this world, something of infinite value that otherwise would have remained unmanifested.

Some people who surrendered to severe limitation become healers or spiritual teachers. Others work selflessly to lessen human suffering or bring some creative gift into this world. Do I want the present moment to be my friend or my enemy? The present moment is inseparable from life, so you are really deciding what kind of a relationship you want to have with life.

Once you have decided you want the present moment to be your friend, it is up to you to make the first move: become friendly toward it, welcome it no matter in what disguise it comes, and soon you will see the results. Life becomes friendly toward you; people become helpful, circumstances cooperative.

One decision changes your entire reality. That illusion thinks it is you. It is not easy at first to be there as the witnessing Presence , especially when the ego is in survival mode or some emotional pattern from the past has become activated, but once you have had a taste of it, you will grow in Presence power, and the ego will lose its grip on you. And so a power comes into your life that is far greater than the ego, greater than the mind.

All that is required to become free of the ego is to be aware of it, since awareness and ego are incompatible. Awareness is the power that is concealed within the present moment.

This is why we may also call it Presence. The ultimate purpose of human existence, which is to say, your purpose is to bring that power into this world.

It is not your physical form but the life that animates the physical form. Throughout the course of this book I had several moments of pure clarity and a genuine challenge to my previously held beliefs that I found utterly fascinating. I am, probably to my detriment, a very opinionated person and I really appreciate and enjoy anything that legitimately changes my mind. This book changed my mind. If you can get past the connected one-ness of the universe dialogue and see the truth that lies between the lines of what I initially thought to be meaningless.

At least to me anyway. And it genuinely helped. I'm not going to go into my personal issues in a book review, and everyone has their own intricately differing situations, but it was refreshing to see things from a new perspective and therapeutic to have the soothing voice of Eckhart reading his wisdom aloud, like my own personal therapist.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. If you want to make the most out of it, listen, pause and think. Maybe also grab a pen and some paper and jot down ideas. You won't regret it! What made the experience of listening to A New Earth the most enjoyable? The way it was told. What other book might you compare A New Earth to, and why? I cannot compare it to any other book since it is unique.

Which character — as performed by Eckhart Tolle — was your favourite? Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry? Made me stronger as a person. This book has enabled me to deal with some very difficult situations of late. Having bookmarked several areas in the book - I find myself returning back to those bookmarks and listening again and again to gather infinite wisdom!

Seriously I love the work of Eckhart Tolle but if I had listened at normal speed I would have had to give this a 1 star review. He speaks so painfully slowly and without any drama or character to his voice that it is almost impossible to listen. The audible app allows you to play back at different speeds and what do you know if you play him at 1. If you've lost your way or don't know your way, take the time to read this book.

There is guidance and comfort here. Very rarely do I come across perspectives and teachings that affect me the way this one did. I would recommend highly a listen. There is at least one truth that will enlighten you.

I loved this book when I was first give it in India by a wonderful and selfless man who thought I needed it and I did. I will ever be in his debt. This book truly changed my life by changing the way I respond to the 'chattering' in my head. I hope it will do the same for you. Buy it and listen, but be warned, this is not a book for the car, I found my concentration was on the book and certainly not on the road.

Close to the top. What did you like best about this story? How does this one compare? Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? No, it is ultimately repetitive so the message is best heard over multiple sittings. If everyone read this book and could understand what the author was trying to say, then the world would be a much happier and healthier place. If you're looking for a new and meaningful perspective on life then this could be just the tonic.

This book really made me stop and. Great great great - take a step inside yourself and take a look at who you are! I have easily gone through this book no less than 9 times. It allows you to logically and reasonably look at so many situations in life for what they are without panic or confusion. Ekhart has a simple way of explaining things without needing to over word or over analyse the situation. It all just makes sense without the need to emotionally sway the listener but gives them the tools and direction of how to understand and address the thought processes that upset us so much.

So glad to be able to listen to this book whilst on two weeks relaxation leave. It gives understanding to that which is emerging. Brilliant book for those awakening. Exciting times for those who say yes to their own part in the New Earth.

I have read self help books and meta physical books for decades. This I believe is the most profound and important books of our time. Here is a protent and simple yet practical tool for healing and liberation. Thank you for this gift to me and to the humanity Eckhart Tolle, it was very long waited. Simple but profound teachings that really resonate with me.

Will certainly be introducing these principles into my life more than ever now. This was an easier read than The Power of Now. Highly recommend! Very monotone narration can make your mind wonder rather than listen, however, it is a great book.

Clever and thought provoking. Simply not for me. His voice is very listenable although I felt annoyed and wanted a bit more life to his reading. Wonderfully read by the author and structured well, this book is highly recommended and definitely one to remember. I fell into a relaxed state instantly when I heard the narrator read. I am now aware.

I will revisit this book often in years to come. Found out many revelations about myself. Everything is good but I think writer didn't do proper research before writing Siddhartha Gautam also known as Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal not in India. Add to Cart failed.
